Hey! I really think this mock-up is sweet! Here we go: Personality- I think that the colors and the arrangement really show one part of my personality. It's clean and simple, yet bold at the same time. I may be really shy and quiet, but my sense of style, I feel, is reflected in this piece. Color- You used my two favorite colors which are also the two colors you'd find the most of in my closet! hehe I do like the way they look on the page and they go well with the layout, however, I sort of feel that using black and red may not look as professional as a portfolio site should. (Even if I do really like the way they look.) When I see the site I see the guitar rocking side of me, but not the serious job-looking graphic designer. In other words, it totally rocks as a fun hobby site, but I'm not sure it would work as well as a portfolio site. White Space- I think that the white space in this layout is effective between the menu options, however the spacing at the edge of the O in Sparago is kind of close. Also, with the guitar picture, maybe there should be a little more room between the edge and the picture. Font- The fonts that you use match really well with one another. The title font is really great and I like it a lot, but again I guess it wouldn't fit as nicely as a portfolio title. That's a hard one to figure out. I guess trying a bunch of different fonts would do the trick. Layout- You really have a good eye for layout, which is great because you had said you really like doing print design. It is all really balanced and I think that the red bars are what bring it all together. I like how there is an extra red bar pointing to home and it brings the viewer's attention there. It's a button that they will probably be using often. I like how you incorporated both guitar and my love of movies and video production without too much conflict. Both pictures are in black and white which ties them together. They're my two favorite things! Overall, the layout and structure is really well thought out especially if this piece is geared towards my hobbies and interests. However, as a portfolio piece, I think I would go a different route on colors and font, but keep the main layout. It's really great!
